Whare Manaaki Maori Workshop
A combination of a studio and gallery, Whare Manaaki was built to promote traditional Maori art & history. Situated inside a building closely behind the Dutch Windmill at south end of Main Street. Other forms of art displayed in Whare Manaaki are carving, weaving and contemporary art. Opens on weekends from 10am-3pm.
Horse Drawn Tram
One of the most adventurous things to do in Foxton is having an educational trip through the ancient streets of Foxton in a Horse Drawn Tram. Located near the Dutch Windmill, their operation runs on Sundays only unless in cases of a special arrangement.
Shannon
A perfect spot to watch Kayakers ‘Hot dog’ or rodeo kayaking during competitions. The Mangahao White Water Park have been overtime converted into a community focused nature reserve and a world class venue for kayaking.
Audio Visual Museum
This museum is a home to a huge collection of visual and audio equipments. Located at the northern end of Main Street, they are usually open at noon on weekends and private hours can be booked on request.
Foxton Beach
This beautiful beach is loved by both tourists and locals alike. Several activities like swimming, kite surfing and walking are being carried out here. Characterized by sand dunes, huge log of woods abandoned by stormy seas, and great wetlands right behind the beach. Ocean Beach Eatery is located right at the foot of the approach road for refreshments as there are none available on the beach.
